The dust has settled

Well, after all these months of waiting. I have lost. I will officially be out of job in January 2013. Unless they cut my tender period to 1 month. Mixed feelings but I believe no matter what, this will be a blessing in disguise.

Accommodations in Korea

Busan
New Life tourist Hotel
KRW36, 000/ night for 2 pax
In a slightly sleazy area which is rather quiet at night. But still safe enough for me to walk alone at night.

Gyeongju
락희원
http://www.luckywon.kr/
KRW 35, 000/night for 2 pax
Located next to Daereungwon Royal Tombs, walking distance to some of the main attractions in Gyeongju. Maintained by a elderly couple who can speak basic English. Ondol style rooms, hence I slept on a mat on heated floors.

Jeju
Jeju City
Trevi hotel
KRW 45, 000/ night for 2 pax
http://www.trevi7.co.kr/
Good location. Clean with flat screen Tv.

Northeast area
Hae-oh-reum guesthouse
KRW 23, 000/ night
It took me 20 mins to walk from the busstop to this stand-alone house with unblocked view of the big blue ocean. A good place to wake up for sunrises. A comfy swing outside the house to read a book when it is not to windy. The owner is a very easy going person and ban even himself from going to the second floor(for ladies only). Bought fried chicken for us at night.

The daily sight that I wake up to.

The owner (left) drove us to the nearby town for barbeque pork @ 10, 000KRW each.

Southwest area
Jeju the guesthouse
KRW 23, 000/ night
http://w ww.theguesthouse.kr/
A Santorini style guesthouse hidden in a local neighbourhood which I almost not know how to walk back to. But once I get my bearing right, it's easy. Located near olle route 10. Next to the busstop and 10mins walk to the nearby town. Nice owner who can speak good English. I think it is very famous among korea young couples.

South
골드비지 Pension
KRW 40, 000/night for 2 pax
Location: Directly in front of jj guesthouse. Diagonally opp to Jeju tourist information center.
Clean and along the main road. With a small kitchen but not working stove.

Seoul
Myeondong area
Happy garden guest house
KRW 20, 000/night
http://www.hpgarden.com/
Beautiful garden, clean rooms, Chinese speaking friendly lady owner, quiet location. Homey.!

Sokcho - Seoraksan National Park
Goodstay Smile Resort
KRW18, 000/night
Quiet location, 3mins walk to busstop. 2 busstops from Seoraksan national park entrance and 20mins busride from Sokcho city. Clean rooms with a very friendly English speaking owner, Ted. Chat with me while i disrupt his criket match for the 2 nights i was there. Walked me to the convenience shop across the street to buy raman for supper, treat me beer and drove me to the bus station when I checkout. What more can I ask for.

Daejong
Cityone Motel
KRW 40, 000/night for 2 pax
Basically a love motel with porn channels on tv and porn videos for watching on the stand outside the lift. There are also English channel showing CSI which is entertaining if you are still not scared of staying alone in a love motel alone. A clean room and 7 mins walk to the train station.

You know..

Sometimes bread is better than love.

Esp when it is delivered to your doorstep accompanied by a cup of green milk tea with cream and no pearls, just the way you like it.

Yup, for this I will like you, once in a blue moon. Hahaha.!!

3Hrs before I arrive in SG

Korean is now 4pm. HCMC is 2hrs before Korea. SG is 1hr ahead of HCMC.

Guess what time is it?

Time to adjust back my clock.

Only transfers of more than 8hrs are allowed out of airport.

Make the best out of it then.
