4 mths approaching

It is almost 4mths since i was last employed.

Apart frm spending a week in Indonesia, 3 weeks in Australia, i had been spending a lot of time with my parents and Darcy.

Dad hasnt make much noise about me not working yet and mum has been showing more and more concern lately.

Am i ready to step back into the workforce?  And the doubt of will anyone wants me?

Am i suited for the life of a self-employed? And the ability to increase my portfolio?

The monthly paycheck is very tempting but so is the time for myself, my parents and Darcy.

Honestly, i am glad that i am able to spend more time with pa&ma especially during this period where its good to have someone at home. But sometimes the restrictions i set on my expenses are kinda killing me. I want to be able to pay for their taxi rides, nice meals, better quality health products without thinking twice on the price. Its hard. I feel like im back to the UBS days, even then i had more money to play with and things werent so expensive back then.

Trying to tell myself that tmr will be better. Yah right, when im not doing anything today, how will tmr be better?

Where am i now...

It has been 3 weeks and im not sure what have i been doing and why am i feeling so tired.

I just want to sleep and stop thinking..

Darcy's KPI

When awarded a milk bone for no particular reason.

Find a corner, dig an imaginery hole and push imaginery soil to cover it.
Walk 1meter away and stand guard there while trying to give a 此地无银三百俩 look.
Pick up the bone 1min later and find another spot.

Repeat it thrice.

Devour the milk bone.

The End. My start..

After 7years 8months, 4 resignation letters later I finally returned my access card, send my farewell email and left with a heavy heart, ready for my next journey, looking forward to sleeping with no preset alarms, mornings with hand crafted coffee or maybe no mornings at all.

1AUD is at 1.0125 SGD

Now I just need to book my air tickets.

A day in Saigon 3

4.15pm - Left after a rest, 130k poorer. The scones are warm and nice. The cream is not oily and the jam is not sweet. Rather well balanced. Did a research and decided to visit MySpa for manicure. Had been walking a little too much today.
4.45pm - Found it and saw L'usine as well. Had a manicure and wasnt sure if there is time for pedi so I settled for just a mani which cost 110k

6.15pm - Was looking for a supermarket to buy some snacks back and saw the word 'mark' at parkson. Went in and bought the stuff I need. As there wasnt much time left, I settled my dinner in a restaurant beside the supermarket.

Realised that 2 of the 3 noodles I had today are Hue cuisine and this was my favourite.

Finished it up, paid and went to take a cab to the airport (less than 15k). Checked in and waited for flight and before I know it, I touch down at 12.10am (sing).

Nice and short trip!

A day in Saigon 2

1.20pm - Paid (58k) and left for the Bitexco tower.

Spot that big piece of pork!

Walked around and wonder if I shld go watch a movie to hide from the afternoon sun but decided on finding some more bookstores.
1.40pm - Found another bigger bookstore and went in. The books are so much cheaper than back home. Step out at close to 3pm and realised that it has started to drizzle. Saw a board beside the bookstore and decided to give it a try.
3.05pm - Took the escalator to the 4th floor and saw these..

A day in Saigon..

5.20am - Left home for airport
5.50am - Arrive at airport and check in
7.10am - Flew into the air
8am (Viet) - Touchdown at HCM
8.36am - Bus 152 (5k) departs from international airport for the city. The bus is packed with backpackers except for myself and a viet couple.
9.14am - Arrive at Ban Thanh Market bus station and begin my walk to the first eating place Banh Mi!! Walk thru the Le Loi park and saw someone learning Argentine Tango.

Arrive at the Banh mi stall but was told that they only open after 6pm.. Disheartened, walk on to find some breakfast and saw this stall with chinese words.

Wanton mee.. (65k)
10am - Paid and left. Went next door for coffee(38k)by the road. Sitting on the little chairs. A cafe I was here previously. Feel that things have become much more expensive now. Or maybe im being 'chopped by carrots'. Was stoning when a young boy asked if I want to have my shoes polished. My brown Adidas has been with me for so long I can't remember how long and I always tell myself that this will be the last trip with it. Somehow I agreed to let him polish my shoes since he is so smiling and happy thou he say it cost 'fifty'. After 5mins of clean, wax and shine, I think my Adidas can now last for another trip or more. I gave him a 20k and he say ok. Well, then its quite worth it den.
10.40am - Went on my way, walk thru Ben Thanh market and tried to find L'Cusine to no avail. Saw a bookstore and went in.
12.25pm - Lunch time. Followed the office crowd into this noodle place and ordered a special.



Now we know..
The noodles soup is so so but the mango juice is power. So mangoey!

Now I know I had been overcharged at the wanton mee place and the coffee place. Sigh.
